CSI School

C.S.I School is a Higher secondary Co-educational school, affiliated to Matriculation board of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu.

The purpose of education is to enable all students to develop their intellectual, Spiritual, emotional, social, and physical potential to the fullest.

The C.S.I School pursues academic excellence for students in the local community through an Indian-based education that develops ethical, responsible, and globally conscious life-long learners.

C.S.I School believes that, child is a supreme gift of God. The philosophy is to educate children to attain excellence in all vistas of life. The objective of C.S.I is achieved by touching the hearts and transforming into excellence.

History

The C.S.I Matric. Hr. Sec. School Kulasekharam was founded in 1983 and is managed by the C.S.I District Church Kulasekharam which belongs to C.S.I Kanyakumari Diocese, Under the Umbrella of Church of South India Trust Association.

Our school is an English Medium, co-educational Pre-KG-XII institution affiliated with Matric Board of School Education, Tamil Nadu. The school has Mathematics, Computer Science and Science stream in classes XI and XII.

Our C.S.I School was intended primarily for imparting Knowledge to the pupil of our local community. The then Pastor Rev.D.RetnaRaj and the then Church committee in the 1980’s realised the need for having a school for the local backward community, and founded the school in the year 1983.

The school got the Matriculation Status for class IX & X during 1994. The school was then upgraded as a Matriculation Higher Secondary School in the year 2013. The school moved to the present building in the year 1991 to accommodate the growing strength of the student population. From then on the school has made great advancement in everything including the infrastructure. From one single hall it now has one building with three stories and one building with base floor.

It has well equipped Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Comp. Science labs. To promote reading habits, we have a well stocked library. Our School is equipped with smart boards with latest interactive, multimedia software to provide students an exposure to the technological advancement and better teaching learning.

To remove the mental fatigue and refresh children we emphasis more on indoor and outdoor games. Our children strengthen their physique and enjoy themselves in our play grounds.

Extracurricular activities groom our children multi talented. Communicative English training, Special Hindi Classes, Abacus, Vedic Maths, Dance, Music, NEET & JEE foundation courses are conducted in our school. With the grace of our Lord Almighty, vibrant management and dedicated teaching & non-teaching faculty, today we are one of the leading educational institutions in and around Kulasekharam.

Our mission is to provide modern education yet retaining the traditional Indian essence. C.S.I School provides an environment in which every student discovers and realizes his full potential and maintains a sharp focus on the pursuit of knowledge and skills. With vibrating energy levels and penetrating foresight, we create self-awareness amongst children and help in capacity building. We are concerned about the overall health and wellbeing of learners encompassing their mental, physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions - we transform them.

The school provides an education which is developmental and integrative in character leading to the nurturing of each and every pupil into a multi-competent person, and to a multifaceted development which enables the head, heart and hands to become balanced parts of an organised whole. In the firm belief that "Good education is the high road to personal and national progress", the school aims at drawing out what is best in the child, through appropriate learning experiences and opportunities, a desire to learn, not just in the classroom, but all the time making it an on-going process through life. It strives to foster in the student a sense of values and an appreciation of his/her own culture, tradition and heritage, as well as of what is good in other cultures.

All progressive organisations are born from the dreams, creative ideas and leadership of certain dedicated intellectual minds. A few decades back in 1983, Pastor Rev.D.Retnaraj of our CSI church and the then church committee members put their heads together, to lay the foundation of an institute which could contribute towards education, development and growth of the children of the Society. But an educational institute is not just about bricks, mortar and concrete; rather it is about building character, enriching minds and about enriching experiences that last a lifetime. Into its thirty-seventh year, a trail of developments marks the significant changes that took place over the years in shaping up the school as it stands today- an educational edifice. With the belief that life is not only a set of instructions, but it is also rather a series of experiences and continual learning process, our CSI school takes upon itself to make the difference; where learning is not just a series of instructions but a passion, which goes beyond books, beyond instructions, beyond learning horizons.
We aim not only to impart quality education but also to groom our children into socially interactive, mentally agile and empathetic individuals; to enable them to develop their own potential, without unreasonable stress. In the contemporary era of striving for excellence in every domain of life, success is synonymous with grit, perseverance and faith in oneself. While the cognitive aspect is given prime attention in the school, the emotional and behavioural compatibility is not ignored. A proper balance is struck between an individual& achievement with that of one & roots and moral values, which, would enable each and every student to become a successful human being. Holistic education is our theme and with a team of high calibre teaching faculty and advanced teaching methodology, we aim for a perfect synthesis of ancient and modern; Indian and international; traditional and innovatory.
